Dear Lee,

You hate horror movies. If given the opportunity, you will grandstand for hours about your vague, grandiose moral objections to a genre that relies on shock to make its point, and if you haven't driven off your audience by that point, you will then take the opportunity to point out that your imagination is morbid enough without adding more lurid imagery. There is no sense in renting a horror movie; you already know that you won't like it and that you will indulge in macabre visualization and won't be able to sleep at night.

Oh, but The Imprint is set in nineteenth-century Japan, so that of course makes it COMPLETELY DIFFERENT.

Seriously, if you rent it and can't sleep afterwards, it is YOUR OWN DAMN FAULT.

No love, and scant tolerance,
Lee

It's not so much a secret as it is a way of life!

I looked up info on the movie because I'm a curious moron like that, saw a couple of pictures that I really didn't need to see, and now I'm off to hug Totoro because he'll protect me from the bad, bad creatures.

As he ought, or otherwise I would doubt his efficacy as a tutelary spirit. ;)

I read the back of the DVD case, and that was enough for me. However, I definitely prefer rubber fetuses to the real thing.
