Being spammity spam spam spam, and also a total not!surprise to anyone who reads along regularly (all 2.5 of you).


Books. A substantial portion of my life revolves around books: getting books, reading books, finding books, loving and having and touching and feeling all books ever. I like the heft of books. I like the smell of new books. I like bibliographies and footnotes, and lists of more books in the back. I'll read anything that shows promise of entertainment, but I'm most partial to history.

I've felt that way this week; I started a dinky little book, 179 pages maybe, on Monday, and it's almost Thursday and I'm STILL not finished. I can feel my brain cells dying.

Books are...my one true love, seriously. Is it sad that Brian and I, when we finally move, have to get a 3 bedroom place simply because the two of us own THAT MANY books?

No, that's totally not sad. Well, no sadder than the fact that I now have so many books that I'm not even sure what-all I own anymore, and I can't have them all out at the same time, and I've been slowly colonizing one of my father's old bookshelves. (I don't recall whether I told you this, but he pretty much left all his shit when he went. Except for his clothes. Which sucks, because I would have liked to have had them.)

Also, apropos of nothing, I totally forgot to tell you that your Nixon/Khrushchev icon makes me wibble with joy. XD

I've been trying to read the same book for half a week. :(

Don't get too down on yourself--you've got a job that takes a lot of your time (judging from some of the stuff you've said about it), and sometimes you come home and you're just too tired. :(
