Stupid zits! Srsly, they keep sprouting all the damn time and needing to be jabbed good and hard, and then they just produce more. I swear it's this weather. I also swear it's something to do with my supposedly "non-comedogenic" moisturizer. My life's dream is to find a moisturizer that performs as advertised, y0.

[livejournal.com profile] calanthe_, I am s0rry for cutting out on j00; I lost my connection of d00m and couldn't get it back again. D: 3ndl355 raav anyway, though. Also my offer to float j00 some cash still stands. ♥

I too am beset by spots atm, but mine due to the time of the month. Damn hormones.

Here at the Dork Tower, we never ever ever ever ever turn on the A/C for any reason, so I am doomed to sweat to death.

ANGST! TRAGEDY! WOE!

I am sure you'll live.

I, however, just got butter all through my hair, so my own fate is less assured *g*

Have you ever tried to sweat to death? In Indiana? ;)

OH NOES! Although now I am curious as to how and why the butter ended up in your hair. *g*

Having never been in Indiana, I must admit I have not *g*

It was courtesy of a rice cake I dropped onto it. Stupid thing.

In the words of the Hoosier humorist Jean Shepherd, "Heat in Indiana has physical properties, so much so that people cut it into blocks and store it in the basement for the winter". Oh, and God, the humidity!

I'm assuming dropping a rice cake on your hair was a total accident ;)

Ugh, I hate humidity. I can stand dry heat up to any temperature, but once you add humidity, I wilt.

This time, yes, but if it turns out to have some kind of beneficial effect, I'll know to do it on purpose next time :D

That was one of the few things I liked about Texas. It was dry heat, yo. (And atm I'm looking at the San Antonio classifieds. Irony!)

I can just see this, too. "Say, Tara, why do you have a rice cake in your hair?"

See, if you were to move to Texas, you would be closer to here :D Okay, not much closer in the scheme of things, but still *g*

It's more likely I'll wake up tomorrow morning and find that my buttery hair has attracted a swarm of ants in the night ;)

The problem is that I hated Texas. As an adult, I'm not sure if that was because of Texas or because of me. I hated everything when I was sixteen. Except Russian history. And Communism. Oh, and books.

Oh dear. I hope Australian ants aren't comparable to spiders, variety-wise.

It was quite possibly a combination of you and Texas. Still, the accent is amusing :)

I am afraid they are. That said, we don't tend to get many inside at this house, unless the puppy brings them in on his fur.

The accent isn't as pronounced as you might think, actually. I'd say Kentucky accents are worse.

Oh, I love Kentucky accents. Seriously, they're my favourite American accent :D

Do you guys get bull ants?

Are you a brazen liar? I can never tell with you. ;)

I've never heard of bull ants, but there are fire ants in the South and Southwest. I remember the eternal war against fire ants when we lived in Texas.

No, not at all. Seriously, there aren't many American accents I like, but I do really like the Kentucky accent. I could listen to Brian Litrell & Kevin Richardson talk for hours, regardless of what they were saying.

Oh yes, we have fire ants too :) Bull ants are like an inch and a half long, and their bite hurts like buggery.

Uh, supposedly ;)

From: [identity profile] shake-the-stars.livejournal.com
I thought that was just because they were Brian Litrell and Kevin Richardson. ;)

In the words of a commercial I remember from my adolescence: "Fire ants are not cute. Fire ants are not cuddly. Nobody wants plush stuffed toys of fire ants."

I'd think it would only hurt like buggery if you were bitten in the same place where one is usually buggered. ;)

Aw, but an ant plushie would probably be really cute :)

OW. BUM BITE!!!!

You bizarro. *g*

I have a bee plushie. It's really adorable. An ant plushie is probably to be had somewhere on this crazy planet. :)

PAIN PAIN PAIN OMG

Yes, quite probably *g*

Aw, bee plushie :) I think my weirdest plushie is my aligator one. Although the dugong is probably a close second *g*

Just imagine having to tell a doctor about that one.

Nobody I hang out with has ever been quite normal. *g*

Dugong plushie?! OMG! If I'd known you had one, I would have demanded pictures when you were taking requests, even if "dugong" does sound a bit rude. :) I also have an entire menagerie of baby chicken plushies. Chickies ♥.

Oh, God, talk about adding insult to injury.

A lot of my stuffed toys are of sea life *g* I have several seals as well, which will probably come as no surprise to anyone. I have no chickens, though :(

Sea life is cool. I want a plush squid. :D X-chan used to have a really cute and soft plush seal, but I think it went with all her other shit when she moved out.

You need some chickens. *sage nod* I still have a stuffed dinosaur left over from my childhood. Her name is a clever literary pun. :)

One of my seals is causing me issues atm, because it's a SEAL... but it was given to me by A, so rightfully it should be put in the box with all the other stuff associated with her. It's a real dilemma, yo *g*

I don't think I've even seen a chicken one. Chicks, yes, but no chickens.

Dare I ask the dino's name?

Date: 2006-05-29 11:51 pm (UTC)

Yes, I can see the source of your moral dilemma. But a SEAL omg!

All mine are chicks. :) Some are actually marshmallow Peeps replicated in plush form, and they're so cute and soft.

It is Charlotte Bronto. She is a brontosaurus. :)

Exactly. It's a particularly cute seal, too. Oh the ANGST!

I have no idea what a Peep is, so i will nod as though I do and go check google *g*

OMG THEY'RE SO CUTE!!!

Hee, you were a dork even as a wee!Lee ;)

I thought they were all particularly cute seals. ;)

OMG YES! I have one that m0mmy got me for Easter a few years ago, and then X-chan sent me a matched set of 4 this year. It's like the Freakishly Large Peep Protecting Its Tiny Charges. :D

I have always been a d0rk. :D Especially as a small!Lee. When I was 9 years old I dressed up as a hoplite for Halloween. I don't know which is sadder: that my m0mmy aided and abetted me in the making of this costume, or that I was 9 years old and could explain the difference between a hoplite and a gladiator.

Well, the real ones are. But a lot of teddy-seals leave something to be desired ;)

It's almost like a talk show title, but instead of "Babies who have Babies" it's "Peeps who have Peeps"

*lol* We didn't have Halloween dress-ups, obviously, but I'm sure I had some odd choices for when we had dress-up days at school. Nothing quite hopliteish, though.
