Well, it depends on the fire. They're all caused by the really bad drought we've been having for the past five years in a way, but individually they're either caused by heat, lightning, idiots throwing cigarette butts out car windows or bigger idiots deliberately lighting them.
It's very much not a case of inefficiency, though. Our CFA is absolutely brilliant, but we're talking about BIG fires. This map should give you a fairly good idea of the current situation. That's a LOT of fire, and when you add in wind conditions and so forth, it's pretty amazing it's not bigger.
