Mmmm, food.
Apr. 30th, 2006 08:46 pmSo. Bagels yesterday morning (lesson not learned: a little salt in the water would be good), and then we had a really good shrimp and citrus salad for dinner; I used spinach instead of watercress, on account of I've never had any luck finding the stuff around here, and regular oranges instead of blood oranges, for pretty much the same reason. Also, out of love for the mortgage-paying demographic (i.e., teh m0mmy), I skipped the mint the recipe called for.
Lessons not learned: Dice the onions next time, and don't bother trying to peel kumquats. On the whole, though, the experiment was a success; we'll be eating that again, which makes me happy. Mom is great to cook for because she'll try anything once.
