Blithering Towards Oblivion
Dec. 3rd, 2006 04:57 am1.) Have been reading Tom Jones, which I picked up at the used-book store in Salem. Am not very far along but am enjoying the hell out of it, particularly the Homer-parody chapter wherein Molly Seagrim gets in a fight in the churchyard.
2.) We were supposed to get hammered by a massive storm, complete with Dire Warnings from the meteorologists and pictures of St. Louis covered in snow ("OMG DON'T LET THIS HAPPEN TO YOU!"). Being Hoosiers, and thus used to it, we ignored the warnings and the worst thing that happened was a little flurrying when I was in Jasper on Friday.
3.) The movie store closed! INDESCRIBABLE MISERY.
4.) However, when I went to the library tonight, I found Hara-Kiri, which is a movie about samurai that I have not yet seen, and was delighted. Huzzah! I've managed to sneak samurai movies in under the wire! Mom was unimpressed, because I have never been able to make her see the beauty that is feudal Japan.
5.) Mmm, cranberry-orange bread.
