xifeng: (are you being served?)
[personal profile] xifeng
1.) Fax line is now hooked up, or at least gotten inside the house. Due to some complication (i.e., Mom's already got two lines hooked up so the service guy had to run a new line), they'll need to come back at a later date to hook it up to the jack, but that shouldn't be any trouble. We've already got a phone upstairs near where I'm setting up shop (X-chan's old room), so that shouldn't be any trouble.

2.) Business cards are in.

3.) I should be getting my E&O form soon, so then all I have to do is fill it out, send it back, and wait on the quote. (It shouldn't be too bad; I've been in this profession five years, and there are no pending lawsuits against me for being a crappy abstractor.) Once I've got my E&O, then I can solicit more business, so this is a Rly Big Deal U Guyz.

4.) [livejournal.com profile] augustuscaesar, my love for you is true, but your LJ layout breaks my Firefox. D: If you notice me not saying anything, that is why. ♥ I do not know what exactly the problem is, because it's just started breaking Firefox in the past week, so I'm inclined to think it's Firefox, not you.

5.) Re: comments, I haven't been getting them for some reason--possibly my e-mailbox is full and I need to clean it out. So if you're waiting on a response from me, I'm not ignoring you--I probably haven't seen it.

6.) Re: someone's recent post, I'm not even going to legitimize that with a response, above and beyond the fact that it is not making me feel more favorably disposed towards the person in question. You're only dragging out the drama, and I don't appreciate it.

1. Home faxes excite me far more than they should.
2. So do business cards.
3. I will take your word for it ;)
4. That seems weird. I changed a few things the other day, but the only thing likely to have messed anything up would be the html I stuck in a sidebar last night, and I'm presuming this was happening before then, yes?
5. LJ has been a poopoo head with those. And other things.
6. No idea what this is, but now I'm thinking that I had hold of the wrong end of the stick on the recent drama, because the person I was thinking it was about has not made any dramatic posts recently, unless it was locked.

1.) Me too, though I hear that giant cash register in the sky cha-chinging away.
2.) I will send you one, if you're that desperate to see them ;)
3.) As you should. :D
4.) Yeah, this was happening earlier this week. I WANT TO COMMENT TO TEH TARA OMG. ;_;
5.) Perversely, this one arrived in my e-mailbox, so I'm wondering if it could also be my e-mail program. However, I was Most Displeased when I saw that butt-ugly navigation bar marring my journal. It also told me that I was viewing my journal. As if I didn't bloody know.
6.) It's not you. ;) If we're talking about the same person, it's not exactly a post; it was a single blink-and-you'll-miss-it paragraph, but nonetheless is only dragging things out beyond their natural lifespan. Also this person never locks posts, ever.

1. It's so silly that I still get excited by them now that they've been superceded by email and stuff.... but yet I do.
2. Oh yes please :) I would offer to send you one of my old ones from when I was in WorkCover in return, but I don't know where I put them :(
3. I always do :)
4. Have you tried the whole ?style=mine thingy? I know it'd involve grabbing the actual link out of properties, but it's worth a try if it continues. That said, LJ's been messing up a lot of style thingies recently, so it could just be that.
5. Yes. I hate that thing. I have been having Strong Words with LJ about it *g*
6. Wait, it is that person, then. And I think I know the paragraph *nods* I'm glad I wasn't as dense as I had originally thought.

1.) There's nothing quite like the telltale RIIIIIING that indicates that Work For Me is coming through. :D
2.) I hear and tremblingly obey, Dread Mistress. ;) If you know anyone who needs title work done in Indiana (I search several counties), feel free to pass my contact information on to them. :D
4.) I would, but this particular layout was done in the old S1 system, so I'm not sure if that would work. :\
5.) I was very glad when I discovered that it was possible to turn it off. :D
6.) I could never think you were dense. Unless you were a rich, moist devil's food cake. But then it would be good if you were dense. :D

1. And work is GOOD because work = money.
2. *lol* Given that the only person I know in Indiana is you, I find this reasonably unlikely, but if the situation changes, I will pimp you to Kansas and back :)
4. Ah, dunno then. It's not something I use myself, but perhaps have a play. Or else put in a support request and see if they know of the bug.
5. Unfortunately it's not possible to turn it off if other people have it set to always show. This irks me. A lot.
6. Except that would mean you would eat me! ...wait, that didn't come out right *g*

1.) Yes. And money is good because money = stuff. And bills paid. And not filing for bankruptcy before I'm 30. *g*
2.) Oh, Tara. You're so always here for me. :D
4.) Hmm. Will putter about and see what happens. Or else will pull up your journal on MIE instead *g*
5.) What is wrong with these other people? Let's hunt them down and feast on their delicious brains.
6.) That sounded delightfully rude. *leer*

1. Aw, but then you get the dubious honour of being one of the youngest bankrupt people ever :)
2. I do my best.
4. What is MIE?
5. Well, the problem is that a lot of people don't know how to turn it off, and some actually like it. The latter doesn't bother me so much. It's stuff like having it come up on feeds that makes me want to strangle the damn bar!
6. I had come in the sentence too, for extra double entendre value *g*

1.) My favorite bankruptcy that I ever, ever found was one wherein assets were like $7 million and liabilities were on the order of $5 million. We all marveled at what these people must have been thinking: "OH NOES! We'll only have two million dollars left!"
4.) Microsoft Internet Explorer. :D
5.) I just don't like it period, but then I suppose they really are pandering to the lowest common denominator. Then again it's not like there's a real alternative for me, though I did like my pita.
6.) KONGRATURATION! A WINNAR IS YOU. :D

1. How is one allowed to file for bankruptcy if one isn't actually bankrupt?
4. Aaaah. Well, it works in mine, but that means very little *g*
5. ....now I feel like pita bread. I blame you.
6. HURRAH FOR ME!

1.) Damned if I know, but since then the US bankruptcy laws (which are federal, not something the states have jurisdiction over) have changed to make it harder for people to file. Which in some ways is good, because there are way too many people who are like, "Hey, it's okay--we'll just file Chapter 7! :D"
4.) There there now. *g*
5.) Mmm, pita bread. With delicious hummus. ♥
6.) WHEEEEEE! *dance*

1. It's probably just as dodgy here, given that they're allowed to give all their mansions, cars, planes and other assets to family members, and still be given bankrupcy status.
5. ARGH NOW I WANT HUMMUS TOO!!!
7. Check your friends list for a link to info about getting rid of that goddamned bar.

Dang, I was under the misguided conception that if I turned the butt-ugly navigation bar on it would show for me always, and if I turned it off, I would never, ever see it anywhere. No wonder it still shows up. And WHY is it necessary to bother good, honest and decent folk with this new "feature?"

LOOK WHAT WE CAN DO! AND YOU HAVE TO SPEND TOO LONG TRYING TO FIND OUT HOW TO TURN THE CRAP OFF, AND EVEN THEN IT WON'T WORK! TEEHEE! WE'RE SO SMART!

And they get money for this, because ...?

Also, I see Red-haired Bastard is back on your LJ. On the other hand, he might've been for a while. He doesn't come to my friends' view page often. Perhaps he thinks he's not wanted, the poor guy.

I was hoping that would be the case, too, but I was mistaken. However, it's not showing up on my journal, so I'm happy. Well, for the moment. We'll see how happy I am once I hie me north today. That has the potential to be a bloody mess.

Kenshin has been on...um...vacation. Except we never say where he's gone or why, and when the kids ask we promptly hush them up.

I wrote the LJ people a few choice words about this new feature - because it was recommended to me somewhere - mentioning such things as "annoying" and "butt ugly". I hope it had an effect. >.< Well, one can never know.

And yes, I know that we don't talk much about The Happy Place people go to to talk about their issues, as I am sure Red-haired Bastard feels the need to do after spending a month or more on your LJ layout. It wears them down, you see. Otherwise I'm sure you wouldn't have to change layouts so often. I mean, you even managed to squash the fly.

Hey! I am glad that you are stepping out on your own. I think you will do well at this. I know that abstracting can be a bear, but remember, Indiana legal descriptions are better than Kentucky's. *^_^*

And, about #5, God, I hope it isn't me. I don't think it is, but ya never know.

(((hugs)))

Yes! Our legal descriptions totally pwn Kentucky's!

Also: I don't have a boss nyah nyah nyah nyah. ^_-

No, it isn't. You might be emo right now, but it's for a real reason, and it's perfectly understandable.

♥!
