joy and wonder
Dec. 29th, 2006 05:48 pmThree-day weekend! Hurrah!
Exciting plans:
1.) Visit used-book store in Salem, because I am not going to be happy until I do.
2.) Watch movies.
3.) Drink sangria (the most important part of this balanced New Year's Eve weekend).
Huzzah!

Date: 2006-12-31 09:16 pm (UTC)I'm partial to the stuff, but I'm one of those obnoxious people who doesn't get drunk, so. *g*

Date: 2007-01-01 02:26 am (UTC)To be honest, I have litres of the stuff on the night in question ;)

Date: 2007-01-02 11:26 pm (UTC)ALSO, look in my recent entry in the bit that says RPG PEOPLE or similar, and in the comments. If I were in Chicago, you'd come visit me there, right? RIGHT???

Date: 2007-01-02 11:41 pm (UTC)I would, because I remember Chicago fondly even if I am afraid of Gary. (I was going to let this pass by without a remark, and then I realized you might need to be told the local context for this. If you're in Chicago, and you drive eastward, once you cross the county line, you're in Lake County, Indiana, which is where Gary--city name, not personal name--is located. This is not a bad thing in and of itself, but Gary is the murder capital of the US and I do not want to be killinated. At least not before I'm done with my book. D:)
I still have to try to campaign vigorously for Indianapolis instead, though *g*

Date: 2007-01-02 11:45 pm (UTC)I've heard of Gary, Indiana, so presumably the murder thing would be WHY I've heard of it. Remind me never to go there o.O
Indianapolis is far less likely, because you're the only person I know from there *g* Also, because I might run into Axl, and that could prove dangerous to us all ;)

Date: 2007-01-03 02:20 am (UTC)Well, also Michael Jackson is from there. Which explains EVERYTHING. But the Communist Party of Indiana headquarters are there also! :D
I could introduce you to my friends! And I have kin there! *tries really hard* Unless I'm mistaken, I don't think Axl is there anymore, but you know better than I what he's up to. ;)

Date: 2007-01-03 07:04 am (UTC)Aha! That's where I would have heard it from, then :)
I believe he is living in caves without his eyebrows and being a hermit. Are there caves in Indiana?

Date: 2007-01-03 01:03 pm (UTC)There are caves in Indiana, but they're mostly in this part of the state as you head towards the Kentucky border; I live maybe an hour and a half from Squire Boone Caverns in Marengo. :)

Date: 2007-01-03 10:36 pm (UTC)Marengo sounds far too much like Mango for my liking. I think I might be allergic to the place by association.

Date: 2007-01-04 03:04 am (UTC)You're not missing very much. It's in Crawford County, whose county seat is depressing because when you drive through English, you can see that there is Nothing There (tm).

Date: 2007-01-04 08:58 am (UTC)And I suppose it's not Nothing There in the cool ghost town sort of way :(
no subject
Date: 2007-01-04 11:07 pm (UTC)It's Nothing There in the sense that you can tell that there USED to be things there, but it's all gone to rack and ruin or else been bulldozed so they could put up a golf course.

Date: 2007-01-04 11:55 pm (UTC)Aw, that's not the good sort of Nothing There. I want to see an Authentic American Ghost Town one day, but not so much a bulldozed town.

Date: 2007-01-07 06:06 am (UTC)You will have to go farther west than Indiana for that :(

Date: 2006-12-30 02:17 pm (UTC)At any rate. *cough* I was a-wanting to look at something on my website, only I discovered that it was down for some reason. So I checked yours, and it's down, too. Of course, it could be a very temporary thing, but I don't know so I thought I would mention it anyway. ^_^ Not that it matters very much, ye ken, I just thought I ought to pass on the information. ^_^ Oh, but the email still works, so it's just the site that's dying.

Date: 2006-12-31 09:21 pm (UTC)I haven't visited XFO lately, though my understanding is that I won't need to renew until early March. (I'm sure I'll find that my understanding is wrong, which is inevitable.) If the e-mail is up, the site itself is probably just experiencing some momentary downtime. [EDIT: Checked just now, am having the same problem.] Well, shit.
However, if it makes you feel better, I did not just randomly remove everything from XFO and not tell y'all. ^_^;;;
