I am looking forward to hearing what you think of The Children of Húrin. Haven't been able to get it from the library yet and am facing a book-buying moratorium at the moment because we simply HAVE NO MORE ROOM OMG. But if it's decent it will go on my TO BUY list.

Ooh! If you have the time to write it, even a one-paragraph one, I'd like a book review of sorts when you've finished The Children of Húrin, mostly out of curiosity to see if Tolkien's son is up to scratch in putting his father's manuscripts together.

OH NOES!!!! Poor Price, out of room!!!! You have my profoundest sympathy.

I've flipped through it already, due to my congenital inability to leave Túrin well enough alone--he's been my favorite since I was about 12 or so--and from all I've seen, it seems to be largely a rehash of the Narn I Hin Húrin in Unfinished Tales. Not that this is necessarily bad (I kind of got the feed from the introduction that this project was aimed at people who've read LOTR but not a whole lot else), and I don't regret dropping $18 on it, but I kind of expected...more. I dunno.

More to follow when I actually sit down and READ it. XD

I don't know if it would be helpful to you, since I am a major Tolkien geek and I've been in love with the particular story in The Children of Húrin since I was in middle school, so my biases are obvious from the start. However, the Department of LiveJournal Content Requests will keep your request on file for sixty days, or whenever I'm bored and can't think of anything to say.

Is someone disgruntled because I asked Ashley to be my speshful helper and not her? ^_-

I am sure I will bitterly regret this later, but I need the impetus. And with your help, I did eventually get caught up on my e-mail, so clearly the use of Ashley is 100% proven to work. :DDDD

Basically: I'm doing this fanfic challenge, right, where I'm writing four fics, one per season (!)--it's a themed community. :D To stay active, I have to post one a month (it's not a drabble community so I actually have to, y'know, WORK at writing a longer fic). I'll let you know when I've claimed my pairing, but basically your job is to annoy me into working on the fics. I expect this position will expire sometime in September. :D

PS: Talyn said you don't deserve spleens (above), but I think she's just jealous because I didn't ask her to be my speshful helper. ;D
