1.) I made a lemon pound cake last night. It is totally radical, dude, though not radical like teenaged ninja.

2.) Got a message today from the doctor's office. Turns out they got the lipids-and-hormones bloodwork back before they got the insulin bloodwork back. They want me to come back in 3 months to have follow-up bloodwork done and see how I'm responding to the metformin, which has never happened before, but other than that, nothing to worry about.

3.) I can't tell whether my abdominal discomfort is impending Crimson Tide or whether it's from doing sit-ups yesterday. Yeah, I'm trying to get back on the wagon because I'm as heavy as I ever want to be, thanks. I'm sure the lemon cake isn't helping there, but dammit, I wanted some delicious lemon cake.

4.) I only have to work 4 hours tomorrow and then I'm off for two days and I think I might go to Salem on Friday, because a.) close proximity to the Waffle House (I am craving breakfast for some reason) and b.) I haven't been to Salem in a couple of years (has it really been that long?) and would like to poke around in the records and also visit their awesome used bookstore, which magically contains whatever I feel like reading (trufax).

5.) Yeah. I think that's it.

We are having many cities called Salem! The Salem to which I propose to journey is Salem, Indiana (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Salem,_Indiana).

There is also a Salem in Oregon, and probably one in Illinois and Kentucky because we trade a lot of place names with them.

Wait.. Indy is kinda far from ol' Mass.

I need to get a friend from Salem, Mass., so that I can bug them for goodies from back in the day. And like, fly down and go on a haunting tour. I'll make sure I befriend a guy. A single one at that, so if I were to get scared, I can stick to him like glue.

Or

Contact my boyfriend and we'll go together. I'll jump into his arms if I were to get scared. No, I WILL get scared. Hauntings don't scare me but I'll fake being scared!!

PROTIP: To a Hoosier, Indy refers only to the city of Indianapolis, not the state as a whole. I realize this isn't something most Crazy Canuck Landers would be conversant with, though :D

I would definitely like to visit Salem, MA one day, because the witch craze (in the Old and New Worlds alike) was so awesomely fascinating. (Easy for me to say, I realize; I'm in no danger of being hanged for a witch. Though some of my maternal ancestors did live in Connecticut at about that time, and of one of them it is recorded that she and her daughter were present when Goodwife Knapp was hanged for witchcraft. The day I found this trial referenced in a scholarly publication, I was like ULTIMATE WIN.)

Does Takeshi scare easily? Because if so, he might jump into your arms.

Indy means Indiana Jones to me. ♥

CAN, though, kinda bugs me because it means more than just Canada, so I have no idea what people say sometimes when they say CAN. Or CPR. Guess what that means? 8D

Damn those Goodwives. Were they REALLY a Goodwife? I saw lots of red As, you know. :o

18th century Native American ancestry here, going by one of the Dakota states. Don't ask me which one because I don't know.

Takeshi cries easily.
