Fic of the Day

Because I feel exhausted and weak thanks to horrid bl33ding stuffs, and because I don't feel like bitching about the myriad evils of Santa Claus, I present you with a fic. I haven't been doing fic recs lately because a.) I suck, and b.) Thousand Ships shut down, which effectively cut off part of my supply.

She Walks in Beauty by one mourning dove. Not Trojan War fic proper, but worth your time. I'm not sure if this is a work in progress or not, but it is enjoyable, even if there are a few anachronisms and the prose is a little purple. (Also: I for one could do without "REVIEW PLEASE" at the bottom of every chapter, but I find it less egregious because this is well-written.) It follows the relationship between Persephone and Hades, and all in all it's a worthy effort.
What else has this author done? Nothing else, as far as I'm aware.

In unrelated news: 3054 words of t3h n0v3l are written. Which is not much, but I'm forcing myself to churn out a thousand words a day. I figure this is manageable.

First of all, it's been forever and ever since I last commented on your LJ. I missed it!

Second, I was like, "OMG I swear I've read this before!" but then I realized that the fic I was thinking about was original, titled "He Walks in Beauty," and was slashy, not at all related to Hades and Persephone. That's what happens when you make impulsive, snap judgments about stories.

**forces a hug on you** What, so s/he isn't just a little purple, but is ultraviolet and can't get over describing every last little thing that doesn't need to be described? And s/he loves introspection crap? That, plus chatty, is my style. I like it; very few other people do.

It has. It has also been writing bad, non-scanning poems with titles like "The Purple Lake of Desolation" and whining when they're critiqued because OMG IT'S LIKE AN EXPRESSION OF ITS DEEPEST SOUL OR SOMMAT.

*is forcibly hugged by her ukelette* I don't think you're that bad, and in some ways I could probably stand to emulate you; setting is one of my weaker areas. And there's nothing wrong with introspection, as long as it goes somewhere. Too much of it, and I find myself thinking, "To the goddamn point, plz."

I saw them, and they brought back fond memories! ^_^ I hope you don't mind, but I pasted the URL to ukekenshin because after I went to the wedding and wrote about it here, she thought your outfit sounded cute and wanted visuals.

Yeah, I don't think they'll let you perform a battlefield hysterectomy for some strange reason. D: However, the horrid bl33ding is almost on its way out, so hopefully I won't be whining in a couple of days.
