Yeah, so. We went to the Fall Festival on Wednesday and Friday nights and had Christian fudge. I get to have a three-day weekend on account of Columbus Day Monday. I am not in the greatest mood right now, and haven't been lately, and don't know if I'll snap out of it anytime soon.

Y'know, honestly, I have nothing to say anymore. Go ahead and defriend me if you want; I doubt it'll offend me, or even put a dent in my consciousness right now.

I'm not going to defriend you. I am, however, going to ask what Christian fudge entails.

Christian fudge is so-called because it is sold by St. Matthew's Church of Christ at the Fall Festival. (All booths are run by local non-profits, so of course you've got churches and Boy Scout troops and whatnot.) It is the tastiest stuff EVAR. :D

Christian fudge? >_>; I'll refrain from making a Catholic joke--oh hell, you'd like it anyway. XD The joke, I mean. -Bricked.- If the fudge is made by Catholic priests, you don't know who their hands have been on. -Killed ded.- Ahem. You'll have to wait three days for my resurrection, onoes. :o

It's sold by St. Matthew's United Church of Christ, which is why we call it Christian fudge. XD It is also some pretty tasty stuff. :D

First of all, I am NOT going to de-freind you. PERIOD!

I know how you feel. I am feeling quite alone right now and I have no motivation to do anything other than sleep. I so wish I had someone here with me right now.

Not even if I dress in pipecleaners and fruit and do the hula in a public place, thereby embarrassing the hell out of you and forcing you to pretend you don't know me? ;D

I'm not quite at the "sleeeeeeeeep" stage, but I haven't had much motivation either in the past week.

I'd offer to come up and live with you, but unfortunately all the counties I search are down here D:

Nope...actually, I would probably join you. *^_^*

I'm not quite at the "sleeeeeeeeep" stage, but I haven't had much motivation either in the past week.

I tried to get some things accomplished today, but I just want to sleep. I have been over at the in-laws for a while. They try to keep me motivated.

I'd offer to come up and live with you, but unfortunately all the counties I search are down here D:

I know. And the drive everyday would be killer. *^_^* Besides, th3 m0mmy would miss you, too.

That would be unique. ^_^

I've just been sitting in front of the computer until my brains ooze out my ears. Tomorrow will probably be more of the same, thanks to Columbus Day.

Oh, I know! Especially with the price of gas. And I would miss t3h m0mmy horribly. Oh, co-dependence, what joy it is!

So we're supposed to defriend you because you have nothing to say? Psh, that's not going to happen, dear.

I have never understood why Columbus Day is so important to us that we make it a government holiday and people are allowed to slack off because of it, but then, I suppose it's like the Saints' Days in Europe. Not a lot of people really attend church/Mass in much of contintental Europe, but they take the Saints' Days off without a hitch, or at least they do in places like France and Luxembourg. **shrugs and hugs you**

I said "if you want", implying that if you don't want, you shouldn't defriend me. Really, I'm past caring one way or the other these days.

Frankly, I don't give a shit about Columbus Day one way or another; I just want the day off work, and since I work for myself and not in an office, I don't have to, like, go in or anything.

*is hugged*

Mmm, Christian fudge. That does sound delicious. XD And I am envious of you for your day off. (I have not had a single holiday off now in almost 2 years...the main peril of the hospitality industry I suppose). Hey, random question inspired by my trip to West Virginia. Do you have department stores called "Elder Beerman" where you live? This inquiring mind would love to know.

From: [identity profile] shake-the-stars.livejournal.com
It was. It is the Best Fudge EVAR. XD

Yeah, but the downside of being self-employed (and being tied to a public holiday schedule because of the nature of my work) is pretty simple: No workey, no money. This is why, if I am ever diagnosed with profuse and unstoppable bleeding or sommat, I shall drag myself into a courthouse with my last strength. XD

I know what Elder Beerman is, but I don't think we've got any out here. We've got your standard Penney's and Sears, and Dullard's Dillard's has just come out here, though we had one in San Antonio. There's also Famous-Barr, if I recall off the top of my head. Lazarus used to be the upscale department store, but has been acquired by Macy's in the fairly recent past.

Also, you were in West Virginia? Eur. XD

Indeed, West Virginia is a veritable pit and I hope to heck that I do not have to live there (*crosses fingers for Pittsburgh or one of the Maryland schools to take me in*). That is true about being self-employed. XD I still wouldn't mind 1 holiday off. 'Twould be nice.

I inquired about the Elder Beerman because Brian and I saw and went, "Oh, so they have a drunken mormon?" and wanted to be sure we weren't completely weird for thinking that. No Dillards or Lazarus but we did have a Hecht's until Macy's bought that as well. Oh and we have a Boscov's, which always makes me want to speak in a stereotypical Russian accent.

Based on my experience as a collector alone, when I rule the world, the entire population of West Virginia will be corraled, sealed in glass tubes, and then forced to slowly drown in their own offal. It was the kindest thing I could think of, really.

(Some people are bothered by the fact that I think about these things. I'm bothered by the fact that more people don't.)

Well, if there's a movie about Mormon porn stars (Orgazmo), I don't see why there can't be drunken Mormons. XD I'm sure my list above is by no means complete (if you guessed that I don't do a lot of shopping at department stores, you are a WINNAR).

Dmitri Ivanovich Boskov: Our Man in West Virginia. Dude, it's the best Cold War spy movie that never was! XD
