Typically I don't beg and plead on here, but this is different. [livejournal.com profile] forgottensanity is doing a survey about gun control laws and attitudes thereto for an exam, and it would be just kickass if she were to get more answers, though she has collected a fair amount so far. The survey is here, and it only takes a couple of minutes.

Tell all your friends. :D

Okay, in like 20 minutes I have to fire up the car and go get dinner. Joy and I have to talk.

That's a bad way of starting a post. I read the first few words and was like, "Oh no3z, sumtihng haz hapind 2 L33!!!" And then it hadn't and that was a letdown. >.> For shame.

But thanks for the advertisement anyway. =D Now go on national television and do the same. Ooh, get us tickets for the Dr Phil show! I could totally interview him, and he'd be like, "Y'all know that I've been married to Robin for 27 years, and gun control is like an upside pancake with two sides!"

Oh, gee, thanks. Are you just sitting around waiting for my demise, Cat? Because you should know that I just had a new codicil put in my will. It cuts you out. I'm still a little miffed that you triumphed over me AGAIN in the matter of Netspeak.

I don't think anybody wants to see me on national television jumping around and yelling, "O HAY U GUYZ TAEK KATTZ SREEVEY KTHX". Also, even if I only did it on local TV, your results would be incredibly skewed because hunting and competitive shooting are popular hobbies here. AND YOU DON'T WANT THAT NOW DO YOU.

How can you just cut me out of your will, after all I've done for you. ;_; I even drew up a life insurance for you! To be paid out to me, of course, in case something should happen ... Of course there won't ... I mean, it's not like I'd go out and hire a hitman, now would I. I'm sure you know how I stand on that issue.

I am the Netspeak Queen! Empress! RULER OF THE UNIVERSE! It is my third language! I should so totally put it on my CV. "Can communicate fluently with the youth and the stupid people of today."

I still think it would be fun to see you jumping through hoops on national television. Wasn't that what you meant about jumping around? That would be cool.

But you're right that local telly probably won't be so helpful since all the answers would then come from the same state which will have different legislation from all the others, which will screw skew the results, regardless which local telly we're talking about. ^_^

Too many whichs. Oh run-on sentences, another of my fortes. I don't know why people aren't just fighting to snatch me up and give me a high-paying job.

But Cat, it's FUN to play "Thwart the Inheritance Hunters"! Someday when you too have stupendous riches, you will understand. In the meantime, I'm revising my will again. Mmmmmaybe you're in it and mmmmmaybe you're not. ^__^

Yes, I do indeed know your position, all too very well. It's something like M0N3YZ 4 CAT = GUD.

ALL HAIL CAT, BODHISATTVA OF NETSPEAK!

Knowing you, you'd prefer to see me jump through flaming hoops. ^_- Also, your run-on p0w4hz are indeed remarkable, and I can't figure out why your services aren't more in demand. However, you could definitely take advantage of this among the non-English-speaking demographic (if any), or among the I-took-two-semesters-of-English-in-college-and-forgot-most-of-it-so-I'll-take-your-word-for-it demographic. :D

whee survey. answered.

there should be a comment section on that survey.

I'd talk about how having a gun to defend yourself wouldnt work very well. If someone broke in and is trying to kill the good-guy/safe-gun owner, there isnt enough time to unlock the gun-cabinet to get the gun and load it and then have the gumption to shoot it. (so using that excuse is somewhat useless)

people just want their guns because its part of our culture and is a romantic idea in some circles. Kinda like sword collectors. pretty.

anyway, how are you?

I think if Cat did put a comment section up, she'd succumb to the temptation to go crazy with the comments and talk about the widely disparate answers. Besides, I think you're right in re: it being part of our culture and there's a certain amount of romanticism attached to Deadly Weaponry of any kind. I like swords; Price likes axes; some people like guns.

I am okay, mostly. Still no work in Bloomington. Sad now. :[ But I will be up on Friday for Serious Library Job-Hunt Purposes.
