A new toy: I haz it. I spent my birthday money and state income tax return on a new camera, because it was cheap as such things go and also I got an employee discount for buying it at Lol-Mart. So now you're going to be subjected to the inevitable fumblings as I figure out how to use it.
CONSEQUENTLY I GIVE YOU SOME PICTURES OF MY GARDEN because it's easier than taking pictures of me, and you don't want to see me that badly anyway.

Here is the garden as you come out the back door; it is on your left-hand side. Left to right: Zucchini, green peppers, red peppers, Brandywine tomatoes.

To your far left are the Brandywine tomatoes. Left to right: Volunteer tomatoes (tomatoes from last year that went to seed and germinated in their original pot), black cherry tomatoes, yellow cherry tomatoes. As you can see, the tomatoes badly need to be staked. I should listen to the lolmom once in a while.

Continuing from the yellow cherry tomatoes (far left), there are Pink Lady tomatoes (??--I think), yellow peppers, Japanese eggplant, and yellow squash.

Here are some tiny peppers on the red and green pepper plants. Moderately blurry. Srry gaiz.

This is our first Brandywine tomato. Obviously, it's not ready to eat yet, but I'm very proud of it because this plant, unlike last year's Brandywines, didn't get RIPPED OUT OF ITS GODDAMN POT BY A STORM. Not that I'm still bitter about that or anything.

THESE ARE EEEEEEEGGGGPLAAAAAAAAAANTS. Not that you can tell, because I was swatting a mosquito away from my ear when I took this. Also, while my pallid, flabby hand is in evidence, at least you can't see my nasty-ass nails which need a trim.

This is going to be a yellow pepper, but it's not quite there yet. Wow, this is blurry. I swear to God I had my glasses on. SWEAR TO GOD, MAN.

These grow by our driveway. Lolmom tends to run over a lot of them because they grow fairly close to the ground and drop into the driveway.

Just for
momo, this is the Undead Zombie Tree, so called because it seems to be gradually dying and periodically drops limbs onto things, such as for instance my car and phone lines. There was a lot more of the Undead Zombie Tree when my folks moved into this house lo these many years ago, but over the years it has shed limbs. The house in the background belongs to our neighbors across the street.

Higher up on the Undead Zombie Tree.
This concludes another episode of Blurry l33 Theatre.

Date: 2010-07-22 02:38 am (UTC)Yum, peppers. ^__^ Damn your journal and its effects on my appetite! And now that I can see where everything's being grown, and have a clear picture of it in my mind, it makes me want to steal all your veggies and sit down in your backyard devouring them like an evil squirrel.

Date: 2010-07-22 04:49 am (UTC)Maybe you should eat something before logging on? XD Also, if I spot something fluffy and pink getting into my vegetables, I'll...well, I don't really know what I'll do, having never had to chase my favorite marine life out of my garden before. ^_-
I am, however, now afraid to put up pictures of the rest of my environs, lest you squee about your intentions to steal my car/break into my house/read my books/otherwise get on my stuff. ♥

Date: 2010-07-22 03:48 pm (UTC)Probably should, at the rate I'm going with your journal. Every other entry makes me want to gnaw an arm off or go butcher some vegetables. It'd probably keep those pesky Northwestern Pink Land-Seahorses out of your garden - I hear they're a real menace to produce.
You should put up pictures anyway. I swear you won't ever find me in the trunk of your car or rifling through your books. I would hate it if somebody rifled through my books, after all!

Date: 2010-07-23 02:45 am (UTC)In that case, I shall have to invest in some Land-Seahorse traps, if I can find any. Granted, if seahorses have adapted to live on land, they may be crafty foes, but THEY SHALL NOT CONQUER. XD Or they can eat underripe produce and get what's coming to them, whichever.
No, you'd just immediately call dibs on the snuggly!blanket, cocoon, and refuse to give it up when it was time for you to head back to Idaho ^_-
