Today, I spent like an hour and a half cutting and pasting together a map, and then taking it to Kinko's, that map crap might be obtained. Might be going out to din with Joy tomorrow, so that's for the better; if not tomorrow, Friday, hopefully. Stuff to discuss.

I was thinking about my job and abstracting and all this, and it occurred to me that even though I kvetch and complain and have cussed out everybody in the land title industry at least twice, I honest-to-God love doing this kind of work, even if I don't always love my particular job at any given moment.

I worry me.

Leg is still bruised and swollen; I keep indulging in horror fantasies whereby it's broken and gangrenous and OH NOES, even though I know I'm being ridiculous. If it were broken, I doubt I could walk normally on it.

♥ for my ukelette, just because.

Actually, when I was driving to The Morg the other day, I was listening to 96.1 on account of that's all I can get out there, and they were talking about the Number of the Beast. (Being Catholic, this was never the big, scary deal to me that it is to some people; in any case, I'm of the historicist school that the book of Revelations probably refers to the reign of Nero.) Anyway, one of the DJs commented that some scholars think the number in question is actually 616, which is also the area code for Grand Rapids, MI. He then remarked, "Well, if I had to guess where the Antichrist will arise on earth, Grand Rapids is a pretty good guess."

Anyway, this morning, I slipped in the shower, came down heavy on both knees, and now have a fabulous six-inch bruise on my right shin. (Like being on the rag wasn't enough?) It could have been a lot worse--I didn't bang my head, wrench my spine, knock out teeth, or break anything, so I'm glad I got off easy with just the bruise. That said, it still hurts like hell, though less so than it did.

(Initially, I did think I might have broken my shin, except a.) I've never broken anything so I have no idea what it feels like and b.) I can walk normally, drive, and navigate stairs, so odds are it's fine.)

Big wheels a-turning. More on this later, perhaps, if everyone does all their chores and eats their vegetables. ♥
