I have the beginnings of a headache for the third night in a row.

The cat has been peeing on things again, so I lost my temper, sprayed the wing chair down with cat repellent, picked her up, brought her to the chair, and waved her in its general direction, yelling, "NO." I figured it was the strongest thing I could do that wouldn't hurt her, but that she wouldn't like. Of course, now she's curled up at my feet purring, so who knows how much of that she actually absorbed.

If I ever get an order from KTC that does not come through LLS, I am going to send it back unworked and write on it, in big angry letters, By no means will I retrieve these documents. They appeared on the prior title evidence, and no competent title company would throw them away...or need to see them again. Either learn to keep decent records, or refrain from wasting my time with this nonsense. NO FURTHER ORDERS FROM YOU WILL BE ACCEPTED.

Persons waiting for t3h n0v3l will have to wait until the end of September, because all I've got right now is horrid pabulum that I can't force myself to make you read. Dammit.

Persons who would like to wait for t3h n0v3l, but have not yet indicated any interest in so doing, can comment here.

Randomly, have realized that August is over to all intents and purposes and that it has been three years since my last cigarette.

Am very, very excited about this weekend, as it is three whole days for a l33 to sit on its ass and read and catch up with things and otherwise be unproductive :D

Today, I spent like an hour and a half cutting and pasting together a map, and then taking it to Kinko's, that map crap might be obtained. Might be going out to din with Joy tomorrow, so that's for the better; if not tomorrow, Friday, hopefully. Stuff to discuss.

I was thinking about my job and abstracting and all this, and it occurred to me that even though I kvetch and complain and have cussed out everybody in the land title industry at least twice, I honest-to-God love doing this kind of work, even if I don't always love my particular job at any given moment.

I worry me.

Leg is still bruised and swollen; I keep indulging in horror fantasies whereby it's broken and gangrenous and OH NOES, even though I know I'm being ridiculous. If it were broken, I doubt I could walk normally on it.

♥ for my ukelette, just because.

Actually, when I was driving to The Morg the other day, I was listening to 96.1 on account of that's all I can get out there, and they were talking about the Number of the Beast. (Being Catholic, this was never the big, scary deal to me that it is to some people; in any case, I'm of the historicist school that the book of Revelations probably refers to the reign of Nero.) Anyway, one of the DJs commented that some scholars think the number in question is actually 616, which is also the area code for Grand Rapids, MI. He then remarked, "Well, if I had to guess where the Antichrist will arise on earth, Grand Rapids is a pretty good guess."

Anyway, this morning, I slipped in the shower, came down heavy on both knees, and now have a fabulous six-inch bruise on my right shin. (Like being on the rag wasn't enough?) It could have been a lot worse--I didn't bang my head, wrench my spine, knock out teeth, or break anything, so I'm glad I got off easy with just the bruise. That said, it still hurts like hell, though less so than it did.

(Initially, I did think I might have broken my shin, except a.) I've never broken anything so I have no idea what it feels like and b.) I can walk normally, drive, and navigate stairs, so odds are it's fine.)

Big wheels a-turning. More on this later, perhaps, if everyone does all their chores and eats their vegetables. ♥
