Sticking my head up for about five seconds of political action. Regardless of how you feel about abortion, there are ramifications to this bill that NO sensible person would agree with. Also, as a gentle reminder: This topic is not open for discussion or debate on my journal, because I am the Iron Shôgun of this LJ account and, as a female-bodied person who does not want children (GASP, I AM A CRIME AGAINST NATURE) and has remained committed to never reproducing, this is a subject I feel very strongly about. If your views and mine don't mesh, that's fine--that is, after all, part of this thing we call life--but COMMENTS IN ALL CAPS with abuse of exclamation points!!!!!!!! that are mostly about PWECIOUS BAYBEEZ and OMG THEY'RE BEING SLAUGHTERED will get you kickbanned. So comments are screened. This usually means people will behave better than I think they will, but just in case, don't let me down.

Also: I was going to wait until my next physical to start the process of being sterilized (a procedure I would have chosen regardless of political currents, because it's something I've always wanted), just to make sure that everything comes back all right, but I may reconsider that now.

I got kind of long-winded )

Purple Day

Pretty much everybody has talked about wearing purple with more eloquence than I can muster, so I'm not going to go back over it other than to mention that yes, I did wear purple (in the form of my work lanyard), and that it was somewhat incidental at first, though I wasn't the only one who had some purple going on. That was kind of nice to see.

Things proceed apace. Next up: Crazy Republican mail, and possibly also a long post about the shit I bought off ELF once I'm done field-testing the last couple-three items.

Dear Red Cross: I will donate to help the people of Chile when I get paid. But I'm not getting paid for several more days, and when I do, I have some First World problems to take care of, viz. my car and credit card payment. After that, we'll see; I'm sure I can scrape something up for you. Love, l33.

I can't help hoping that H is okay, what with recent tsunami activity, even though I'll likely never find out whether that hope is misplaced or not. Famous last words: "This will probably be the last time I talk about H in public". Lololol @ me.

This section has been cut for your protection. Also, TMI. )

The exciting rundown of my exciting week! )

Plans for the immediate future: Eat dinner (chicken with balsamic peppers, mmm, also mashed potatoes with mascarpone cheese, mmm); continue to clean den; complete FAFSA. The Indiana state deadline has changed since the last time I filled out a FAFSA; it's now 10 March. My goal is to have it mailed by the 3rd. (I know I can do it electronically, but it's easier for me not to. Yes, I am a Luddite that way.)

So. How is everybody out there in Int0rbuttzland?

Lee 3:16

I don't really know if I'm entitled to a 3:16, but we all know no kerfuffle is complete without me pontificating it to death.

Warning for anyone offended by swear words, my obvious disgust with the entire topic, and me being less than supportive of various roiling seas of batshit: Contains swear words, my obvious disgust with the entire topic, and me being less than supportive of various roiling seas of batshit.

Since everybody else is doing it, thoughts on the recent kerfuffle. Or fagsplosion, if you'd rather, and I would rather. )

They found Hatshepsut. Read all about it.

Man, I live for shit like this.

1.) From the "Funny Because It's True" files: Lazy Muncie. It's a response to both the SNL original, Lazy Sunday, and the West Coast response, Lazy Monday. This would be for the edification of the three of you who haven't already seen it.

2.) I seem to have dropped $40 on magazines today, the vast majority of them news and political magazines. (Though in my defense I did pick up Archaeology, in the hopes of luring the missing back issues out of hiding, and MHQ, which I remember fondly from my childhood.) Sometimes I frighten me badly.

3.) Tomorrow, I get to teach my n00b how to use Deed Plotter. Whee.

4.) I tried and failed miserably to make grouper and couscous for dinner tonight. The couscous actually worked out quite well, and the grouper would have too if it hadn't tasted funny. I doubt this applies to any of you, but for the love of God, DON'T SHOP AT THE NEWBURGH SCHNUCKS. Kthx. At least we had Dove Bars (tm) for dessert. ♥
