The short list of things that have happened:
1.) I got back from Florida. I promise to post about that at some point. But that point is not tonight.
2.) Diane (one of my aunts) came down for the weekend, so it was nice to see her, since I haven't in quite some time. This did put a bit of a crimp in my VAST INT0RWEBZ SOCIAL LIFE etc, but oh well.
3.) I had a flat tire on my way to Corydon this morning, which resulted in my going to the tire shop instead of to work. Now I have new tires on all four wheels. WIN.
4.) Joy called and there was ventage.
5.) I am reading The Bamboo Sword and Other Samurai Tales by Fujisawa Shûhei. I'm about halfway through, but love this book. The ambience is gorgeous.

New Tires FTW! I hope you didn't experience any difficulties whilst changing to the spare.

Ambience. I've always liked that word.

My new tires are totally pimp. XD As is the fact that they financed me and I get a $40 rebate. :D Other than actually having the flat in the first place, no, we were okay. (A trucker was kind enough to stop and help me, which probably got me going faster than waiting for the wrecker would have.)

Ambience rules. It's ambient. XD

Oh, hey, is The Bamboo Sword... translated from the Japanese, or is Fujisawa American-born or an immigrant? Because if it's translated... **salivates** I love it when I can get translated works, no matter how much my English teacher vented about translations and their varying accuracy.

Hello Talyn, how are you today, and why are you stalking me?

Oh, hey, it's translated from the original Japanese. And I highly recommend your picking it up, since I think you'd enjoy it.

I'm stalking you? This comment popped up in my email inbox just as I'd deleted the previous notification email about your reply to my post! Oh my God, you stalker! **giggles** No, seriously, I just happen to be trolling LJ right now and I want to reply to comments rapidfire so I don't let them languish for four days, the way I often do.

WOOT! I wonder if our library has it. If not, there's Amazon. And the twenty dollars in my kitty bank. **rubs hands together** Is there a lot of violence in it?

I'm just replying to comments as they are recieved since that is what the voices are telling me to do. ^_- In any case, I notice I'm getting a new comment about every five seconds or so--not that I have serious moral objections to that sort of thing. It's been a long time since we've done this. ^_^

There is also your seme. ♥ I'm only about halfway through, and so far there's not much violence, but there is a lot of action, if that makes sense.

Yeah, that makes sense; to me, violence means there's a certain, possibly excessive, amount of blood and missing limbs, as opposed to slashing and hacking but a lack of description about the sprays of bodily fluids and appendages. Or a lack of detail, I should say. It's the gore that accompanies violence that gets me and sends me away from all but the best books.

Good! 'Cause I have no moral objections, either, and I like comment conversations. The only person I've been able to have these with recently has been [livejournal.com profile] momo, and that's a lot of dorky one-liners and name-calling. Which is fine, but I like to get typing exercise. It helps me pretend I'm burning calories here at the computer.

Violence in and of itself doesn't bother me, if we're talking about violence that has a purpose of some kind in the story. I don't like violence that's just thrown in for the shock value and the big gross-out; that's not the point. *pets her squeamish princess*

I do too. They became one of my favorite things 3V4H after I met you. ^_^ However, I do agree that if you need one-liners and name-calling, Ashley is your woman.

You are burning calories, but it's probably a very negligible amount.

Senseless violence bothers me even more than violence with a purpose, so if there was loads of pointless death - well, for one thing, I doubt you'd be enjoying it as much as you are, since you're a sensible person, but I wouldn't like the book at all. So yeah. Horror movies and slasher films are, in my opinion, like, the devil.

You silly monkey of a seme, comment conversations are great no matter who you have them with (flame wars, on the other hand...). But I love having my serious conversations with you and then playing and venting with Ashley-poo.

No kidding! I like to think that hey, I'm strengthening my finger muscles the same way that video game nerds (wait, I am one) strengthen their thumbs. ^_^

*poke* what's your email address until the new site is up?

Oh! I thought I'd said something about it, but I is motard. :D The new site is "up" in the sense that all the technological underpinnings are there, including e-mail. ^^;

Try xifeng AT xi-feng DOT net. It worked for everyone else, so it should for you. :D

RECEIVED :D

Yay for not-so-constructive criticism. I kind of got burnt out on thinking what should happen next, but now I am interested in the project again ♥
