So I went to Indianapolis. (I had hoped that I would feel differently about it but no, still hate hate hate Hate HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAATE Indy. Or more accurately, I hate the original city planners, whom I hope are lying at the bottom of the White River with cement blocks attached to their feet. I also hate this "there are no through streets and all streets must be one-way streets" bullcrap.)

Now I'm back.

More on this subject later, but right now my top priorities are throwing my laundry in the wash, humping my suitcase upstairs, turning on all the fans, and going to bed.

I Return

There's a longer post in the works about the wake and funeral, which I need to get out of my system but haven't finished yet. I don't know when that's coming; sometime this week, I suppose. Anyway, the main thing is: I went, and yesterday my aunt Diane and I drove back up from Savannah (she lives in Indianapolis and wanted to miss race day, and I wanted one day that WASN'T about the funeral). My skin has decided to turn on me, and I've been eating almost nothing but horrible road food (other than the two decent meals I had at Phil and Heidi's). Also I have to be back at work tomorrow.

So that's it, really. I'll get back to LJ comments and the like at a later date.

We had a Severe Thunderstorm that resulted in a limb falling off the Undead Zombie Tree, JUST MISSING the house and taking out the Internets. So I've been gone. The Internets were fixed about an hour ago. X-chan is here so I will catch up LATER. Nothing exciting happened here.

That's all!

We now have the honor of having home Int0rbuttz. In fact, the tech came out and got us hooked up a few days ago (there was a line problem, so they had to dispatch someone), but I was having such a great time watching all the YouTube I previously hadn't been able to view on dial-up and also downloading the hell out of Photoshop brushes and other responsible pursuits that I thoughtlessly didn't mention my return.

Also, I was trying to avoid [livejournal.com profile] pixelation. Well, not really, but my contractual obligations require me to pick on Pixel at least once a week.

My job, I do not want to go to it. (Do I have a CHOICE? No.) Moreover, my two days off (yesterday and Tuesday) were completely ruined by goddamn allergies. I am all for plants, but I wish they could pollinate in a way that causes less nasal anguish to me personally.

I think that's all.

O hai thar Delilah. I'm back.

I don't know that I'm doing 100% better. The job situation still hasn't improved (though I've gotten two raises, one cost-of-living and one performance-based), and, consequently, neither has the financial situation (though I'm not doing as badly as I could be, given the circumstances). I'm still in therapy (big surprise, I obviously have some issues to work through). Mom still hasn't got a job, and that weighs on us. (She was up for a job, made it to the second-interview round, and was in the hiring company's top three candidates…and they picked someone else. Well, I wish them joy of their vastly inferior employee.)

On the other hand: I've lost some weight (part one in a bazillion-part series), am generally eating better most of the time (I really fell off the wagon this week, though), and am exercising more regularly. I'm less socially isolated than I had been. (I am so bad at meeting people in real life. SO BAD. Trufax.) I'm still getting interviews, so obviously I'm doing something right. And damn it, I miss my friends.

Events of the past two months behind the jump, if anybody cares. Shit no one cares about! )

In conclusion: back now. Hi.
