The Dangerous Existence of Madame Lee

Computer is still in the shop.

I can now say "pixelation is my homegirl friend" in Cantonese, if I could remember the word for "friend" which I just learned last night AAARGH why can't I like normal things like TV or whatever it is the puny normals like.

The lolmom called last night. She's going to be in Florida longer than expected, so I'll see her again at the end of this week. I did at least get an apology for the cake thing, so.

Callice is sick, and I don't know what's wrong with her. She is eating far less than she usually does (we call her the catpig because she typically gobbles food and then howls for more), and she's less active; she just wants to hang out in the corner of the living room all the time, rousing herself only to sit on my lap or, occasionally, get up on the end table that faces the window. If nothing else, I know that when animals change their eating and toileting habits for no apparent reason, there's something wrong; she's not an old cat, and she's an only pet who only lives indoors, so I wonder what it could be. She doesn't seem to be in pain from pets or handling. I finally moved her food and water into the living room so that she doesn't have to exert herself to reach them, in the hopes that I can get some nutrition into her system that way. I'm sure she's experiencing some cognitive dissonance, since she now gets pets and praise for behavior that formerly annoyed me, just because it shows that she's able to move. We have a vet appointment for Thursday morning.

Don't want to go to the job I now have. Am forcing myself to manage it on the grounds that it's not even a full shift, I'll be home at a reasonable hour, and I'm off tomorrow.

Still need to call insurance agent about E&O.

I don't know that I'm doing 100% better. The job situation still hasn't improved (though I've gotten two raises, one cost-of-living and one performance-based), and, consequently, neither has the financial situation (though I'm not doing as badly as I could be, given the circumstances). I'm still in therapy (big surprise, I obviously have some issues to work through). Mom still hasn't got a job, and that weighs on us. (She was up for a job, made it to the second-interview round, and was in the hiring company's top three candidates…and they picked someone else. Well, I wish them joy of their vastly inferior employee.)

On the other hand: I've lost some weight (part one in a bazillion-part series), am generally eating better most of the time (I really fell off the wagon this week, though), and am exercising more regularly. I'm less socially isolated than I had been. (I am so bad at meeting people in real life. SO BAD. Trufax.) I'm still getting interviews, so obviously I'm doing something right. And damn it, I miss my friends.
