The Dangerous Existence of Madame Lee

Quick note for anyone who gives a shit, which almost certainly is limited to forgottensanity and jurhael--the domain will return in the next couple of weeks or so (HOREY). However, some changes will be made. Below, a précis:

1.) I've had it up to here with PowWeb, which as you knew was coming for some time. We're switching to DreamHost. This means that pretty much all the files that were up on XFO before are now going to be lost, so I hope everyone has backups. This is not a big deal for me, since TI had been taken down and I've got layouts and text for my other projects saved here and there, but it may be to you. Also, I'll have to reconstitute everyone's e-mail and FTP passwords and so on and so forth. Cat, DreamHost may have WebFTP; I'm not sure, I'll need to dick with it.
1a.) Also, we're prepaid for two years, so we won't need to worry about this again until 2009. WIN. I'm not paying significantly more than what I was paying at PowWeb, on the off chance either of you cared.

2.) The domain name will change. I still own XFO but am planning to quietly drop that name after the registration expires next year. The new domain will be xi-feng.net because I am ever so very creative.

1.) For the three people who didn't find out the hard way, XFO is on the fritz because I haven't renewed the hosting package because I haven't got my refund yet. So basically mail sent there will not be delivered. So try legioxxvictrix AT yahoo DOT com instead if you need me, kthx, or if you want to be SURE I'll look at your e-mail, ask nicely for the S00par Sekrit Address.

2.) This entire week has sucked large, hairy monkey balls, and I will be so so SO glad when it is over. THE FACT THAT YOUR FAX MACHINE IS A PIECE OF CRAP DOES NOT CONSTITUTE AN EMERGENCY ON MY PART. Seriously, if anyone notices an appalling deterioration in my attitude, as though for some reason I just really cannot be arsed with someone's fucking land titles anymore, that is why.

3.) Will be gone for at least part of the weekend (I'm doing the South-Central Indiana Petite Tour: INDIANAPOLIS - BLOOMINGTON), so if you need anything, feel free to call the ol' cell. Or feel free to wait, whichever.

4.) Okay, so I don't do Gundam Wing fandom outside of having watched a few episodes back when it was on Cartoon Network and we still got Cartoon Network, but this has been driving me crazy. Does anyone BESIDES jurhael (who was there with me in the trenches, pointing at the stupid) remember an unbelievable Mary Sue called Black Suck Sylke? Her site is no longer extant, but can be pulled up through the wonders of the Wayback Machine (punch in "www.treizeandblacksylke.com"). I am sure there is more to the Suedom than meets the eye, and in my fruitless searches I have found hints of wanksplosion and Teh Crazy here and there, but not enough corroboration to piece together a reliable history. And you know how I am with history projects.

Also, I understand that Black Sylke appeared in some deviant and raunchy adult fanfiction, and if anybody remembers where it was archived or can find me a copy, I will grant you deviant and raunchy sexual favors (within reason, as flatly refuse to perform some acts). It is possible that I would find said fanfic rather tame and vanilla, but hey, can't fault a man for trying.

Exciting events of yesterday: We exchanged the original TV set for the larger one that m0mmy wanted (with much hemming and hawing on her part, because she thinks she doesn't deserve to have a new television set and shouldn't ask for a bigger one even if the bigger one is what she wants and was within my price range anyway). Hurrah! Whereupon I went to Borders and irresponsibly blew my gift card (BOOKS FOR THE WIN), and then we went to Iwataya where I downed raw fish. Mmmm, delicious raw fish. ♥

(Speaking of fish: HEY angeljuggalette, DO YOU WANT TO GO TO RED LOBSTER OR THE BONEFISH OR SOMMAT SOMETIME. I'm free weekends and evenings anymore.)

Also, on a happy note for forgottensanity, jurhael, and anyone else who follows XFO with bated breath, I did write PowWeb support, and XFO is back up and running so my e-mail is arriving again. I do wish, however, that they would take care of these things WITHOUT my having to write them first.

Okay, off. I have library books that need to go back, I have an ass that I'm tired of seeing get bigger, and Mass is at 4.

forgottensanity and jurhael, I've put in a support request about the obnoxious failure of WebFTP lately. I can tell you that when I log in, I can see that your files are there, but I cannot pull them up in my browser. Hopefully, this is something we can resolve easily.

If it isn't, well, the good ship XFO will be switching to Dreamhost when its time is up this year, because I've been less and less pleased with PowWeb's service over the past year.
